The Norfolk Minor Hockey Association is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to fill the role of Referee-In-Chief.
Position Overview: The Referee-In-Chief will be responsible for overseeing the officiating program within the Norfolk Minor Hockey Association. This role involves recruiting, training, and mentoring referees, scheduling officials for games, ensuring the highest standards of officiating, and acting as a liaison between the officials and the association.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, and develop referees of all levels.
- Assign referees to games and manage scheduling.
- Ensure adherence to rules, regulations, and standards.
- Provide ongoing feedback and support to officials.
- Address any officiating concerns or disputes.
- Liaison position between officials and the Norfolk Minor Hockey Association.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in hockey officiating, preferably at the minor hockey level.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and mentor a team of officials.
- Knowledge of current hockey rules and regulations.
